Welcome to the Center for Research, Public Policy, and Training (CRPPT) at Texas State University. Housed within the Department of Political Science, we focus on engaging public agencies, non-profits and the broader community through academic research and real world learning. CRPPT draws on the strengths of our Texas State faculty to build ongoing relationships to address key policy issues. CRPPT focuses on three key areas of research and engagement: local and state government research and training, sustainable urban planning, and international public administration exchange and learning.
Key projects have included hosting the annual legal public policy symposium (Hogwild – Local Government Seminar) with the law firm of Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal Hyde and Zeck (DNRBHZ), conducting a community survey for the City of Hutto, sustainable transportation research sponsored by the Southwest Region University Transportation Center, and local, regional, and national events like the “Transportation Beyond Oil Symposium” held with co-sponsors the Carnegie Endowment for World Peace and the University of New Orleans Transportation Institute.
Upcoming events include the June 2015 International Sustainable Transportation Exchange Program in Brasov, Romania.
